The Manifesto for New Times, 1988-1990
The “Manifesto for New Times” group, consisting of “Eurocommunists”, sought to redraft the party’s programme in line with the ever changing situation in the Soviet Union and the dominance of Thatcherism in Britain. Commission on the Middle Classes, 1954
The emergence of a sizeable and prosperous middle class in Britain posed problems for the Marxist-Leninist CPGB, as it meant the dwindling of their working class base.
