Collection: Reporting on Africa: From Apartheid to Pan-Africanism, 1949-1995    Volumes    Colin Legum's Writings from the 1940s to the 1980s
These writings are split into documents according to the georaphical location of their focus. Three core themes emerge from these texts, the first is of African countries' often bloody journey from colonial rule to independence. Legum also focusses on South Africa far more than other countries, with content on this country being spread across boxes 2. 3 and 8. The third theme of these texts is of polticial influences including negotiations with Communist states; alongside the influence of Socialism upon Ghana and discussion of Socialism's possible implications for the Commonwealth.
