The James Brown papers, 1809-1898
This small supplementary collection, also held at the record office in Liverpool, relates to the period following the abolition of the slave trade, in particular the transatlantic shipping of James Brown (ca. 1807-1851) in 1840s and early 1850s, but including a few papers belonging presumably to his father and son, who both bore the same name.
