Dussehra 2025

Colorful effigies of demon king Ravan, made of paper, on the Hindu festival of Dussehra.

Today (2/10/2025) is Dussehra.

Dussehra is a Hindu festival that marks the end of Navratri after ten days of celebration. The festival is also known as Vijayadashami or the Day of Victory as it symbolises the victory of good over evil. The festival centres on the Hindu belief that light will always triumph over darkness.

British Online Archives would like to wish a Happy Dussehra to all those celebrating.
