In 2025, Pesach (Passover) will be celebrated from 12 to 20 April. Today (12/04/2025) marks the first day of Passover, the celebration of the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt, as told in the Bible. To commemorate the Exodus, during which Moses led the Israelites away from persecution in Egypt, Jewish people partake in two ritual feasts called Seders, during which the story of the holiday is told. Matzah, or unleavened bread, is eaten as a reminder that there was no time to let bread rise when fleeing Egypt during the Exodus. For the next eight days, Jewish people are not allowed to eat anything with grain that has been allowed to rise.
