British Online Archives (BOA) is a West Yorkshire based academic publisher that specialises in primary resources.
As part of our student outreach initiative, we’re offering members of the Leeds University History Society the opportunity to enrol in our 2022 Winter & Spring internship programme.
Interns will be encouraged to perform a wide variety of tasks across the business, giving them a unique insight into and experience of the world of primary source publishing.
Interns will be asked to contribute one day a week across February and March, although there is some flexibility on exact start and finish dates. Depending on personal preference, they can choose to participate remotely, at our central Leeds office, or a hybrid of the two.
The 2022 Winter & Spring internship includes five workshops convened by different members of the BOA team:
- Content: Selecting, Scoping, and Curating Archival Content
- Editorial: Turning Archival Material into an Educational Resource
- Sales and Marketing: Framing, Promoting, and Selling Primary Resources
- Technical: Production, Website Management, and UX
- Writing & Publishing an Article: Learn How To Write an Article of Publishable Standard
We shall be conducting interviews at our Leeds City Centre office during the week commencing 6th December 2021. All internships are unpaid.
