Notes
The CMS had three missions in Nigeria - the Yoruba mission begun in 1844, the Niger mission begun in 1857 and the Northern Nigeria mission, known as Hausaland 1900-1906 and begun as a separate entity in 1907. Consists of three series of documents: letter-books containing copies of out-going correspondence from the London headquarters to missionaries in the field; precis books containg summaries of all incoming papers from missionaries in the field and incoming papers - mainly letters from the mission secretary dealing with administrative matters from the bishop and missionaries and local diocesan committee minutes. From the Archives of the Church Missionary Society, London.
