Selected from Holkham A/4-46 (formerly Mss. 730, 731, 737-741). Covering steward's accounts, with details of kitchen expenditure and servants' wages. Also A/7 (formerly Ms. 737): Journal book of accounts, 1718-1727, a composite vol. of servants' accounts. Post-1700 estate and household records, which are exceptionally complete, allowing detailed reconstruction of the workings of the estate from the early 18th century, including staffing, maintenance, farming, and even additions of furniture and art works.
