Britain and the US in the Far East (excluding China), 1940-1946

Collection: Secrecy, Sabotage, and Aiding the Resistance: How Anglo-American Cooperation Shaped World War II    Volumes    Britain and the US in the Far East (excluding China), 1940-1946
Some of the French forces rejected the 1940 Armistice. Led by Charles de Gaulle, the Free French fought Germany's allies from French Indochina. French Indochina included Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. These papers reveal how UK and US forces operating in Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar worked with the Free French to defend these colonies from Japanese forces. Topics covered include secret missions in Thailand, relations with the Free French, situation reports from Myanmar and attacks on Japanese shipping.
