Collection: Agitation and the Internal Politics of British Communism, 1907-1977    Volumes    Correspondence between the CPGB and Independent Labour Party, 1933-1936

Material, largely correspondence, between the CPGB and Independent Labour Party (ILP) during the 1930s. Much of the material pertains to the CPGB’s attempts to build a ‘United Front’ amongst left-wing organisations to defend the interest of the working class. The ILP was in terminal decline by the time the 'United Front' was under discussion, having disaffiliated from the Labour Party in 1931.
