There are three core focal points to this grouping; writings about Mongolia as a country, trade with China and Russia 1948-1962, and papers from the Watford branch of the CPGB. The records relating to Mongolia include correspondence with Mongolian Academics and with the Mongolian President, alongside records relating to Montagu's understanding of the country as gleaned from his visits there. The records on trade with China and Russia include correspondence with ambassadors and records of conversations with five Chinese Government Ministers. The papers from the Watford branch of the CPGB refer to their political activities and include circulars from the London District CPGB.
