Collection: Marxist History and Historians in the 20th Century    Volumes    Dona Torr's correspondence about 'Tom Mann and His Times' (i), 1946-1957

Dona Torr originally intended Tom Mann and His Times to be a two-volume biography of British labour activist Thomas Mann. Volume I was published in 1956, but Torr’s death the following year meant that Volume II never appeared in print. This volume contains Torr’s correspondence with various people and institutions regarding the preservation and acquisition of information on Mann. The documents also include first drafts of chapters by E.P. Thompson and Christopher Hill.
